Calm Chat is a Chrome extension designed to reduce anxiety while using ChatGPT by replacing the “streaming/typing” effect with a calming breathing bubble until the response finishes generating.

Information we collect

• No personal information. Calm Chat does not collect, sell, or transmit personal data.
• No chat content. Calm Chat does not read, store, or send the text of your prompts or ChatGPT responses.
• No browsing history. Calm Chat does not collect your browsing history.
• No analytics. Calm Chat does not use analytics, tracking pixels, or telemetry.

Data stored on your device

Calm Chat may store limited settings locally on your device using Chrome extension storage (for example, whether the extension is enabled and any display preferences). This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party.

How the extension works

Calm Chat runs locally in your browser. It modifies the visual presentation of ChatGPT’s UI (for example, hiding the streaming text and showing a breathing bubble) only while a message is generating.

Data sharing

We do not share data with third parties because we do not collect or transmit user data.

Security

Because Calm Chat does not transmit user data to any server, there is no server-side storage of your information by Calm Chat.

Children’s privacy

Calm Chat is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change, we will update this notice before releasing an updated version of the extension.
